Chalets, hotels, family skiing and luxury alpine escapes
Carry On Skiing
Richard has been arranging ski holidays for over 30 years. Before moving into travel, he worked as a ski guide in the French Alps — which means his knowledge of resorts, snow conditions and what actually makes a good ski holiday goes beyond what you will find in a brochure. He works with the main chalet operators and ski hotel specialists, and will help you find the right resort and accommodation for the way you ski.
Plan your ski holidayWhat Richard arranges
Every kind of ski holiday
Chalet Holidays
The classic ski holiday — a private chalet with catered meals, a hot tub and a short walk to the slopes. Richard knows the best chalet operators and the resorts where they deliver. Operators like Ski Total, Esprit Ski, Scott Dunn and Powder White each have their strengths.
Ski Hotels
From comfortable three-star hotels to five-star ski-in ski-out properties. Hotel skiing suits those who prefer more flexibility than a catered chalet — you eat when you want, come and go as you please. Richard finds the right hotel for your budget and preferred resort.
Family Skiing
Ski school, gentle nursery slopes, good childcare and a resort that does not exhaust parents. Richard knows which resorts work best for families with young children — Les Gets, Morzine, Meribel and Alpe d'Huez are consistently good choices. He will also advise on timing to avoid the busiest school holiday weeks.
Luxury Ski Escapes
Courchevel 1850, Verbier, Zermatt, St Moritz. Ultra-luxury ski holidays with exceptional accommodation, private guiding and the finest mountain restaurants. Richard works with the specialist operators who know these resorts properly.

Useful to know
Things worth asking Richard about.
When is the best time to go?
January and February generally offer the best snow conditions. March brings longer days and often good snow at altitude. School holiday weeks are busier and more expensive — Richard can advise on the best weeks for your dates.
Chalet or hotel?
Chalets suit those who want a sociable, all-inclusive feel. Hotels suit those who prefer more flexibility. Richard will ask about your priorities and steer you towards the right option.
Which resort for beginners?
Not all resorts are equally good for beginners. Richard will recommend resorts with good ski schools, gentle nursery slopes and accommodation that does not require a long transfer to the slopes.
What about ski hire and lift passes?
Richard can arrange ski hire and lift passes as part of the booking, or advise on booking independently. He will also flag any resort-specific considerations — some resorts have better hire shops than others.
